SIAM Workshop on Network Science (NS22) September 13-15, 2022 Virtual Workshop

The workshop will be held remotely and will include keynote presentations, contributed talks, and posters. To facilitate participation from different time zones, each day the activities will start at 10:00am and end by 3:40pm EDT. Participation is open to the entire community (not only to SIAM members), but registration is required.

Network science is concerned with the structure and dynamics of graphs (and generalizations of graphs), dynamical processes on such graphs, and the design and analysis algorithms that compute with and on them. The goal of the SIAM Network Science workshop is to promote cross-fertilization and new research among the communities that study and apply networks, both inside and outside SIAM.

[3C] Cells, Computers & Clinics. Oeiras, Portugal. 26 – 28 Oct 2022

The global pandemic showed the critical importance of integrating fundamental , computational and clinical research to promote systemic understanding of a global threat to humankind. Global epidemiological assessments informing national and regional policy-making around the world were only made possible due to fundamental mechanistic knowledge of coronavirus biology dating back decades, large-scale data on human mobility patterns enabled by recent technologies, as well as massive onsite and dynamic clinical reporting from health institutions.

It is now clear that complex human diseases can only be tackled by transdisciplinary efforts that integrate fundamental, computational, and clinical research. This is not, however, an easily achievable feat, as fundamental laboratory discoveries are often not directly transferable into clinical settings, with controlled experiments not necessarily reflecting organismic and societal complexity. Only with synergy between fundamental researchers, clinicians, and data scientists can we hope to gain the depth of understanding required to address the physiological mechanisms behind some of the most challenging human diseases at the interface between hosts and pathogens.

The goal of the [3C] Cells, Computers & Clinics Symposium is to do exactly that, to bridge fundamental, computational, and clinical research in the scope of complex diseases, particularly those related to host-pathogen interactions.

IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (IEEE SSCI 2022)

IEEE SSCI is an established flagship annual international series of symposia on computational intelligence sponsored by the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. The 2022 IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (IEEE SSCI) will be held in Singapore, from December 4th to December 7th, 2022. IEEE SSCI 2022 promotes and stimulates discussion on the latest theory, algorithms, applications and emerging topics on computational intelligence. The IEEE SSCI co-locates multiple symposia under one roof, each dedicated to a specific topic in the CI domain, thereby encouraging cross-fertilization of ideas and providing a unique platform for top researchers, professionals, and students from all around the world to discuss and present their findings. IEEE SSCI 2022 will feature keynote addresses, tutorials, panel discussions and special sessions, all of which are open to all participants
